As we’ve mentioned in our newsletters over the last few months, we are excited to be hosting national Christian recording artist Tammy Trent in concert Monday night, September 15, at 6:30 p.m. at The People’s Church in Franklin. If you live in or anywhere near the Middle Tennessee area, you do not want to miss this evening!
This will be Tammy’s only concert in the Nashville area this year. Tickets will go on sale to the general public July 14 but right now, only through Wives of Faith, they are available now for military wives and their families.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at itickets.com. So tell your friends, your FRG groups and any and every military wife you know!
Tammy’s new CD, Stronger, comes out July 29. I visited her MySpace page today and listened to a few of the new tracks (check out “God of Impossibles” and “Somehow UR”). These are just the demo versions, not the fully produced versions that will be on the CD. I can’t wait to hear the whole album!
One of the reasons we invited Tammy to come is because she has such a powerful testimony. I met Tammy in the late nineties when I was 19 and working at a Christian radio station in Baton Rouge, La. She and her handsome husband Trent were doing a radio tour for one of her first albums. They were such a sweet and loving couple. But in a tragic turn of circumstances, Trent died in a diving accident on September 10, 2001.
Since that time, God has brought Tammy through the tragedy of losing her husband and has taught her what it means to walk in grace and God’s unconditional love. Lucy Swindoll says this: “Out of sorrow and loss, Tammy Trent found a path to hope and joy through her personal relationship with Christ. She not only shares these moments with pathos, tenderness and love but with humor and candor that will touch you deeply. I love this woman! And so will you when you hear her message of how God’s grace can lift any of us out of a pit and put a new song in our mouths!”
So I hope you’ll join us in September, and go ahead and get your tickets! Also check out one of Tammy’s videos below and a poignant interview she did that will give you more insight into this incredible woman.
