I was privileged to meet author Mary Connealy this past summer. She and I had emailed before, since we are both members of ACFW. I had read and reviewed some of her earlier novels, and was thrilled to meet her in person. She wrote about that meeting here, and you can even see pictures if you’re so inclined (and if you want my side of the story, go here). One thing I love about her is her obvious enthusiasm for life and people. Another thing that struck me as different is that she wanted to ask me about my writing, such as it is. She was so encouraging to me! I appreciated that; it’s a highlight of 2009 for me in terms of writing.

Anyway, I love Mary for her friendliness and her heart for sharing a good story. I love even more that she mailed me two autographed copies of her novel Montana Rose for me to gift the two new chaplain’s wives at our base this past autumn! This woman, my friends, loves our military. She also sent me a copy of Cowboy Christmas to give one away here at Wives of Faith!
