I have just returned from an early morning walk. It was 70 degrees and so amazing outside. We are in the third week of August in Alabama. Just such a gift from God to have these beautiful mornings and evenings before Summer is even over yet. I began to pray to the Lord about some things in my life and seeking answers to life’s situations.
I love the prayers that Sara is giving us each day. They are wonderful ways to be in agreement and lift up the concerns and praises of our nation, the military and their families. The ‘This is the Day’ theme seems to be coming to my mind over and over in the past few weeks. I was even given a new coffee cup yesterday with a ‘This is the Day ‘ scripture around the inside.
So, I am walking and began to sing ‘This is the Day, this is the day that the Lord has made’….. I heard in my spirit ‘This is the Day to put on the Armor of God’. So, as I began to walk, I physically gestured to put on the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, shod my feet with the gospel of peace. I held up the shield of faith and then the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. I repeated as I walked that the enemy of my soul cannot steal my joy and that I will walk with full battle dress on throughout this Monday as the week begins.
As many of you continue the journey of transition and deployment do as Ephesians 6:10-11 NKJV says ..‘Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.’
This is the day to stand in confidence having put on the full armor of God!!!
Bless you today!!!
