Faith Deployed…Again Contributor: Rachel Latham

1. How did you get started writing?

I have been writing since I was a little girl. While other kids had bug collections, I collected lists of words in a notebook. I Started publishing small things here and there in between children (we have 4).  Now that all of the kids are in school, I am able to devote more time to my writing.

2. What are you favorite Bible verses as they apply to the military wife/lifestyle?

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning
you.” 1 Thess. 5:18 and “When thou passeth through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt
not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Isaiah 43;2

3. What suggestions would you give to the military wife who would like to minister to or support other military wives?

Understand that military wives have so much  in common and yet are in a different point of their journey. There will be younger  wives that you can help lead, and older wives whom you can learn from.

4. What has been your favorite assignment (duty station)?

Fort Campbell, Kentucky was my favorite, for emotional reasons….it was our first duty station and it was where we started our family. Happy memories : )

5. What is something you wish others knew about you? (This can be a totally random fact, like you like to wear glitter toenail polish, or you like frozen blueberries in your oatmeal, or you would like to go rock climbing one day?)

I cry when I hear the National Anthem, I can get lost even with a GPS, and I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
