February Blog Spotlight

First of all, I want to apologize for this coming out so late this month. Right now my life reminds me of my BFF, Valerie, from High School. Of course, back then we had no idea what BFF meant, the phrase probably hadn’t even been invented. She always carried what seemed like a thousand pens in her purse. We had a standing joke about her dropping those pens. She would bend over to pick one up and about four more would fall out. Rinse and Repeat. We laughed hysterically every time it happened. She would eventually get the pens under control — sometimes with help, sometimes on her own.

Being a military wife is much like trying to carry too many pens. As soon as we get an area back in our hands four more slip out while we are focused on that one. We see each area as a critical piece of our puzzling lives.  But you know what? God has big arms. We can let him carry those pens for us. He will do more than that. He will organize them. He will let us have them back when we need them. He even provides the white-out when we make mistakes. We only have to turn them over to him and remember that he doesn’t expect us to provide for every possible circumstance in our lives.

The most valuable thing at Wives of Faith has been the connections that I have made with other women. Especially the ones that are there to help me pick up my pens. That being said, I hope you enjoy connecting with these sisters, Jennifer, Jen and Jane.

Jennifer at Real Life Army Wife shares a simple and meaningful prayer for her Blog-iversary.

“Thank you God for the way you have led us through the past and the way you now carry us into the future. You are the one who exists outside the confines of time, yet you gently and lovingly guide us through each year.”

Jen is a writer and Air Force wife. Her blog, Middle-aged Mama is packed with information and links to resources about military life and homeschooling.

“The longer I live–the more situations I see–the more challenges I go through–I know this to be true: God loves me, and has been with me through each step of life.”

Jane gives us recipes, product and book reviews plus giveaways at her blog, Our Content Nest.

“We are an ordinary family with the same worries and stresses as you.  We trust in God to guide our way; and, we recognize our need for a Savior.  He makes all things new.”
