Military Appreciation Events to Know About:
One of our long-time Wives of Faith, Joyce from New Jersey, sent this in to make sure everyone knew about. I went to high school in Lancaster, PA and can still smell the chocolate they pumped out at night when leaving the park!
Hershey Park Military Appreciation Day
Who: All National Guard service members (Army and Air), Retirees, DoD, DMVA Commonwealth employees and their families
What: Hershey Park Day
When: Sunday, Sept. 27 2009
Where: Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania
Why: To support our Guardsmen and their Military Families
Notes: Hershey Park is inviting the National Guard from PA, DE, WV, DC and NJ to attend.
** Tickets MUST be purchased online ONLY for this event. Tickets CANNOT be purchased at Hershey Park the day of the event.
Parking is free. The cost of admission is $21.00 for all ages (children 2 and under are free.) This special rate is ONLY valid for admittance on Sept. 27 2009. Admission is via e-ticket ONLY. Season passes will not be accepted for this event.

This discount is for National Guard families only – you will be asked to show your military ID at the gate. Don’t forget, there are general military discounts that are offered anytime the park is open, but they generally have to be purchased from an MWR office on your local military base – for more information, go here.
Six Flags Over Georgia Military Appreciation Day
Ran across this one when I saw a mention from a military wife on Facebook… Six Flags Over Georgia is offering a few special military appreciation dates you may want to take advantage of if you’re in the area…
Sept 19 – Air Force: Park open 10:00a.m. to 8:00p.m.
Sept 20 – Navy & Coast Guard: Park open 10:30a.m. to 7:00p.m.
Sept 26 – Army: Park open 10:00a.m. to 8:00p.m.
Sept 27 – Marines: Park open 10:30a.m. to 7:00p.m.
The discount is a COMPLIMENTARY admission for the military member and up to two dependents. If your service member is deployed, you as a spouse and up to two dependents can still receive complimentary admission. This discount also applies to reservists and guardsmen (THANK YOU Six Flags!). Don’t forget to bring your military IDs.
