  1. Hi ladies, my new blog focuses on our being a military family, with husband beginning his final rotation (prior to retirement). With a large family homestead, 90 minutes West of our duty station, we’ll be converting a shed into living space for our family. For the next few years, it will be a place to simply visit.. And closer to retirement, we may be moving full time onto our 10 acres. If you enjoy simple living, have an interest in small/tiny homes, country living, military life.. with highlights of the challenges and joy that goes along with preparing for military retirement – then my blog may be one you’ll enjoy. Blessings..

  2. I am a 24 year old military wife, attempting to get through my husband’s first deployment. He is an Army officer with the 3ID in Afghanistan and will remain there for the next 9 months. I started my blog when he went to Ranger school, but it has now progressed to focus on our deployment experiences.

    • Chelsea,
First I would like to thank your for your strength, courage and support for not only your husband but for those that are affected by military depoloyments. Your kind might be the most unappreciated amongst the American public. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would like to share a story with you that myself and a fellow soldier shared in a recent music video regarding military life. It is completely relevant to your cause and I hope you get a chance to check it out and share it with others in your support group.

A close friend and myself both were deployed in Iraq in 2003/2005. Although I am not a husband or father, my friend is. He found out that his wife was pregnant just days/weeks prior to deployment. The struggles and emotions of these circumstances inspired this song. I hope you enjoy!

Thanks again for all you do!

Hi, my name is Amanda Springer. My husband just left to Navy Boot Camp last week Tuesday. I’m having trouble being apart from him and not able to pick up my phone and call him. I need to know how to handle this in the right way. Is there any advice would y’all recommend? I don’t have any support except my in-laws. Thanks.
