I had a military wife email me recently to ask what we have in terms of support for military wives currently living overseas. At the moment, the only thing we have done in an active, deliberate way to minister to these wives has been the Coups for Troops program (which is currently on hold until the fall).
So… what are specific needs that military wives living overseas have? Let us know and help us develop some great programs that will minister and encourage these women.

Protestant Women of the Chapel is very active in Europe and located at military bases throughout Europe. PWOC.org has a list of places, times, and contact emails to reach local leadership. I always look for PWOC first when I find we're moving.

My first thought was care packages of some kind. It can get so lonely over there and getting something like that in the mail would be awesome.

We've only had one duty station since my husband and I were married, but we fell in with an organization called Cadence International while at Fort Lewis, Washington, which I've heard has a pretty strong presence in Europe… especially in Germany. They are primarily a ministry of hospitality houses, giving military families a home away from home. The one outside of Fort Lewis hosts bible studies and social events. We made some GREAT friends through the ministry and are SO THANKFUL to God for providing us with such passionate and God-honoring missionaries!

We are getting ready to head to South Korea for our first overseas PCS. I know it's going to be a big change coming from Fort Hood, TX, one of the largest Army post in the US to an overseas post that does not even provide housing for families. I am not sure what to expect or even how our families needs will be different there. I'll have to post again once we get there and see how things are there compared to in the states.
