For your perusal, here are three more mil-wife blogs. Remember to comment here to have your blog spotlighted. It’s been such fun to connect with each other through these blogs. I hope you’ve felt the same!
Catherine at What Lies Within is a Marine wife and blogs about many things, military and otherwise, including her Facebook fast (you’ll definitely want to read her blog if you find yourself constantly checking Facebook…).
This is a particularly moving quotation from a recent blog:
We often want to fix or solve things that break, but the truth of the matter is there is only one fixer and solver. Lift that monumental burden off your shoulders because it does not belong to you! Instead, what people need from us mere mortal types is someone to hear them, acknowledge their pain or challenge, and then journey through it with them. The more we do this, the more we will realize we can never fix it, only God can. Hopefully, this realization will push us towards lifting up those whose lives are broken.
Military life is hard. Regular life is hard. And sometimes we just need another person to agree with us on that. Then, just pray for us and journey with us through this messy thing called life.
Isn’t that great! Be sure to stop by.
Army wife Aprille’s blog is found here. You can click on other page links to read about her love story with her husband, Russ, and his recent safe return from a deployment. She blogs about life and their recent move. She has some lovely photos and their story is a sweet one. She is quick to give credit where credit is due: From the beginning of this PCS, things just seemed to be going so smoothly. I was thankful to God, but still holding my breath about the rest of the trip, the housing, etc. But when I found the house, I kept thinking, “Ya know? it would be JUST LIKE GOD to give us this house and let us move in before September 1st.” And sure enough, it was just like Him, and just like His wonderful love.
Lindsey at Bound by the Word has a new baby and some lovely music on her blog. Her husband is deployed to the desert, and she is anxiously awaiting his safe return. One recent post started out by saying, I wish I could title this post “How My Husband’s Deployment Helped me Learn Patience,” but no matter how much I wish that was the case, it simply isn’t. Amen, sister! She then goes on to say, I was mildly joking when I said that I would probably have to be patient when it comes to learning patience, but really, it’s absolutely true. In this life, the Lord uses our circumstances to grow us and mold us. I might not have learned some mystical “key” to patience over the past year, but the Lord used this time and my circumstances to draw me into the reading of His Word, and I was greatly blessed by it!
Finally, I’m going to offer for your reading pleasure a blog that is written by a friend of mine, Teri Lynne. She’s not a military wife, but a pastor’s wife. She started a new blog a few months ago called “Pleasing to You” and it’s quite spiritually uplifting. Teri is a gifted devotional writer and I’d encourage you to visit.
Thanks to all of you who have linked to the list of military wives’ (and girlfriends!) blogs. I will continue to spotlight them in upcoming months!
