Here at Wives of Faith, we are constantly on the look out for how we can better connect, support and encourage our members. Part of this is bringing in new volunteers to serve on our leadership team who will meet the needs of military wives. I’m excited to announce two new fabulous additions to our team – Crystal Perry and Rachel Porter.

Many of you have let us know how much you’d love a better way of connecting with other Wives of Faith. Crystal is an Air Force wife and mom of 4. She is serving as our Message Board Director, overseeing the development of our new message board and we are all excitedly awaiting its launch! She is still looking for a few more moderators, so if you’re interested, be sure to contact her at crystal@wivesoffaith.org. We’ll announce in our e-newsletter when you can join the message board, so be sure you’re subscribed.

For many months I have wanted us to have something special here for wives living overseas. We have been doing Coups for Troops (though that program is currently on hold for the summer) but I’ve wanted us to do more. Military wives living overseas (or OCONUS as they often refer to it) can find themselves dealing with totally unique challenges – not just deployments but new cultures and new languages, just to name a couple of things. Rachel Porter is an Army chaplain’s wife who just returned from a 2-year assignment in Italy. She knows these unique challenges wives overseas face and has graciously agreed to join our team as director for our new Military Wives Overseas ministry. She will be writing for our blog a couple of times a month, sharing tips and advice for wives who are in this club. Email her at rachel@wivesoffaith.org.
