If you’ve been around Wives of Faith for a while, you know that we’ve been partnering with F.R.A.Z.L.E.D Military Wives Christian Network (FMWCN for short) on our summer Bible study.
I “met” Shannon Burrous online several months ago when I saw her on Twitter and checked out some of the things she was doing. I was interested in what she was doing with her radio show for military wives because I had been talking with our own team about the possibility of doing a radio show one day.
But I’ve never forgotten something Purpose Driven Life author and pastor Rick Warren said once about ministries working together. He said if you see another ministry doing something great, don’t try to replicate what they’re doing, join in! Too often, ministries try to compete the same way businesses do – trying to be #1 in numbers, financial resources or influence – but I think God’s kingdom is way too big for just one ministry to try and do it all!
So I called Shannon up and we started talking about ways we could partner together since it quickly became clear to both of us that we shared the same vision and passion to reach military wives and connect, encourage and support their spiritual growth and their emotional well-being.
We didn’t want to join the two ministries together, but we did want to share and work together, listening to the other’s ideas, communicating about different resources we learn about and helping promote each ministry’s efforts. We have done this with much prayer and it’s been a really good experience so far.
I’ve agreed, at Shannon’s invitation, to be a permanent co-host for the radio show and we are excited about the on-air interaction and the new level of cooperation between our two ministries as we strive to bring some great conversation and encouragement and resources to you, the military wife.
Right now, we are praying about changing the time of the show. It’s currently on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. (EST) for the regular show and Thursdays at the same time when a Bible study is being done. Shannon has had a couple of requests from ladies about moving the show to the evening, possibly as late as 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. (EST). Would you have a better chance of listening live if this was the case?
Please let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Also, if you have any ideas on topics for shows, we’d love to hear those as well. And if you’d like to help be a guest host or line up other guests or resources, let us know that as well!

I love this!!!<div></div><div>Something I'd like to do in the future, is talk about the role of the chapel and chaplains in the military. Resources, etc. available on base and post, and even to reserve families. </div>
Pattie
Patti,
I think this is a great idea. I have a couple of chaplains in mind that I could ask about coming on the show.
